CCTV Camera System
This is made up from one to sixteen cameras, 4-8 or 16 channel digital video recorder, 1 monitor
When buying a security video recorder, make sure you get the right advice from your CCTV Suppliers.
There are a few things you need to know
1. Make sure the quality of the recorder and cameras are the best you can afford, the camera needs to match your recorder, for example if your recorder only records at a resolution of Cif which is the lowest recording resolution, it would be pointless buying a high resolution camera, the camera you need to purchase would be a sony chip 420- TVL medium resolution you will also save yourself £15-£20.
Lens, if you are not sure of the lens size to buy, go for a vari-focal 3.6 - 9mm this way you wont get it wrong
Also make sure the camera is suitable for external use if you are installing the cameras outside
Choosing a Quality security video Recorder
Make sure the compression is MJPEG 4 or the latest H262 this is the best compression the industry users at this present time, as a result you will get perfect images from local area network and internet
Another thing you need to know about is the frame rate, for example if you choose a
cctv hard drive recorderr with an overall frame rate of 50 fps
By dividing this number by the number of cameras on your DVR it will tell you how many fps you are getting, the number would be 12.5 fps
Look for a recorder with a frame rate of 100 fps
Real time recording is 25fps per second to get a good quality recordings you would require 100 fps over all channels
The example here gives you the frame rate when selecting a DVR, buy a recorder with a medium to high resolution either Cif 2 or the highest Cif 4
4 channel 100fps
8 channel 200 fps
16 cnannel 400fps
The minimum I would accept per channel would be 12-16fps this will give quality recorded images
